escape route

In case of fire you should flee. So that the crowds can escape unhindered, it is extremely important that the escape routes are always clear. The doors always open to the outside! Here are the escape routes in the CAB.

CAB F21:

CAB D21:

Noise protection

The organizer ensures an appropriate volume level of the event. The night-rest from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., during the legal summer time on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., must be respected. The organizer is responsible for ensuring that guests keep night-rest also outside the rooms.

CAB:
Sound checks are to be carried out from 7 p.m. at the earliest. The ETH approval office can allow exceptions.

HXE:

The event rooms at the HXE are part of a strict noise policy, here the most important measures to avoid noise complaints.

-After 10 p.m. all windows and doors on the HWO / HWW side must be kept permanently closed
-Always use the outside only on the HIL side
-No smoking / lounge area for events over 50 people - not even before 10 p.m.
-From 10 p.m., always keep doors on the HWO side closed. Exception: cleaning up & securing supplies. Absolutely no public traffic
-Carry out clean-up work quietly

If you are planning an event at the HXE, consider the following criteria for choosing the right room before completing the reservation form:

rent the room upstaires (HXE-C1) just if:

-the event will be finished before 21:00 hrs (quiet tidying up allowed after that)
-the event goes on until 00:00 o'clock, but is quiet (little alcohol consumption, no loud music) Cleaning up must be done quietly!

rent the room downstairs (HXE-B1) just if:

-the event goes on until after 21:00, and more than 80 people will be present
-the outdoor space is also required for the event (e.g. barbecue events or open-air aperitifs)
-You have to expect it could get loud

Alcohol Prevention

At events where alcohol is served, the youth protection poster (no beer under 16 years, no spirits under 18 years) should be hung behind the bar. The poster can be downloaded and printed out here.

Decorations

All decorations must be specified at the time of reservation and must comply with fire regulations. All decoration materials must be classified by the manufacturer as fireproof according to fire police regulations and declared accordingly. The Organiser must inquire about this in good time and is fully liable in the event of fire. Decorations must be removed completely after the end of the event.

Smoking ban and fog machines

Smoking is prohibited in all premises. Likewise, no fog machines or similar are permitted, as the fire alarms cannot distinguish between them. Costs arising from disregard (e.g. false fire alarm) will be charged to the organizer.
